⁣How to get your kids to eat a well-balanced diet and eliminate chaos during meal time:⠀

✔Eat uninterrupted- No screen time or toys are allowed during meals. Meal time conversations are encouraged.⠀

✔Eat on a schedule- Eliminate disorganized eating by scheduling 3 meals + 2 snacks around the same time everyday. This discourages mindless snacking. ⠀
â €
✔Eat together as a family- Everyone gathers together during meal time as much as possible. Nobody eats in their own rooms or living room. ⠀
â €
✔Eat the same foods- Everyone in the family eats the same meal in different portions. If the child does not like what is being served, we do not offer anything else.⠀
â €
✔ Serve a variety of foods on the plate- introduce all sorts of foods with different texture and color and constantly mix it up. ⠀
✔️ Be patient- If there is a certain food the child will not eat, do not force him to eat it. Encourage him to try everything. Even if he takes one or two bites, it is a step towards the right direction.⠀

✔Keep reintroducing foods- Offer him foods that he does not like again and again so he gets comfortable seeing it on his plate. ⠀
â €
✔Start small- give small amounts of new foods and increase the portion each time.⠀
â €
✔Encourage cooking - Get your child into the kitchen with you as much as possible (ie: beat the eggs, wash the veggies). Kids are more likely to eat the foods that they help you prepare. ⠀

These are some of the rules that we implement in our household. We are not nutritionists by any means, but this method has worked for my 2.5 year old son thus far. He is a pretty good eater and we try to encourage him to eat all sorts of foods within a timely manner. â €
